Someone sent me an e-mail recently depicting Italy and it brought to mind how people travel to Europe and marvel at old architecture - and Sudbury just wants to tear things down.
I still hear people moaning (myself included) about our beautiful post office that once stood at the corner of Elm and Durham streets: And now they're talking about tearing down Sudbury Secondary.
It was new when I attended. Am I that old? A few have had foresight and renovated, like the building at Elm and Elgin that used to be a bank and is now a men's wear store.
Why is it OK for Europe to have old buildings, but not Sudbury?
Who says new is better?

While I agree that we should not be tearing down every old building some of them got to go. I’m not suggesting we tear down the Edison Building in Falconbridge, it’s historic, but the city plans on using it as a home for city archives. It’s going to cost us over 900 $ a day; everyday to operate. 900 $ a day to store documents. Completely retarded.
