Our 5 billion $ city had the debt capacity to buy it. The 21 billion $ investment in buying Inco would've been paid off in less than 10 years. The city could've began producing elecricty from the superstack to double it's profit to over 2 billion $ a year.
Right after 911 Inco stock price was 8 $ and change US. The entire company could've been bought at that time for 5 billion $. Inco paid 5 billion $ alone for Voisey Bay. Anyone could've bought Inco and Falconbridge at that time for less than the price paid for Inco or Falconbridge in 2006, as each company was sold for 21 billion $.
Or why didn't the province or government of Canada buy Inco or Falconbridge?
The governments get hundreds of millions in tax revenue from Inco and Falconbridge but would've gained billions instead had they bought these companies and kept them Canadian owned.
What do you think?
