Where is the integrity in our elections? The votes are now counted in private! Every year we have furiously fought elections that mean virtually nothing! We must bring back the hand counted vote! We need a full investigation into the 2003 and 2006 municipal elections! The integrity of the vote is the cornerstone of democratic government! This is the first thing to be repaired if we want to begin to create a brighter future for all Sudburians. Did we really elect these people into office? Who knows, all the evidence is hidden, or is it already tampered with? Where are the ballots being stored? Is it secure? Who has the key? At the election polls; Why were the vote ballots taken out of the one big box and stuffed into 5-10 little boxes by the poll workers, at each station at the end of the day? This is not a safe way to handle the ONLY evidence! Why was no identification required when voting? Why did it take 3 full days to announce the OFFICIAL RESULTS? We used to have the results on the same night , with the handcounted vote! Why are we paying 815,000 $$$$$ to a U.S. corporation to count our votes? In 2003, the city officials did not ask the people of Sudbury if we wanted to have our election system changed. THEY JUST DID IT! They also said "we would save money and have the election results quicker and more accurate. So far all of these claims have been deceptive and LIES! Have the people of Sudbury been drinking FLUORIDATED WATER for so long , that we have forgotten how to count our own votes, OR THINK? stay tuned! Have another drink and watch our town sink! ----and above all do not use your God given abiliy to think, ask questions, to speak out, or to get involved! The puppet masters would not like that, maybe they would have to increase the fluoride in your water for a few days.

This is what happens when we lose the handcounted vote and we don't complain! We become OSTRICIZES

?? Can you spell "l-i-t-e-r-a-t-e" ? I believe the word you were looking for was "ostrasized". As for the hand-counted vote, what do you suggest, packing the entire population of a city (or province or country) into a single room??? Who's going to do the countring, and just how long do you expect that people are going to hold their hands in the air whilst losing circulation in their hands and forearms??? Hand-counted vote is fine for a board meeting. For a mass vote dealing with a large population of voters it is simply not feasible.

Hand counted votes already exist. In order to have an electronic voting and counting election the city needs to pass a bylaw to enact it. The bylaw expire at the close of the polls on the day of the election. Thus, right now, we have a hand counted vote system in place.

Well, seeing as only 3 people have voted in this little electronic vote you've set up here, I guess that it's easy to figure out who the fly in the ointment is But I have yet to hear of anyone get badly injured, or even suffer any abrasions or contusions whilst voting electronically. So, if it is not unsafe to vote that way, it must be safe!!! Now if the question was whether or not it makes it easier to rig elections............
